Table of Contents

Marvel has something or the other releasing all the timeand it can be hard to keep the slate straight. We have tried to narrow down the list and focus on the 2022 releases. Fortunately, all of Marvel’s releases will show up on Disney Plus, which makes it very easy to follow the releases. We have multiple movies and TV shows scheduled for release this year such as Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and season 2 of Loki. We will even be seeing Agatha Harkness return in her spinoff show, Agatha: House of Harkness.

We have done our best to create a list that includes everything that will be released sometime in 2022. From theatrical releases to online streaming, the list includes everything.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is a TV series releasing on Disney Plus and starring Oscar Isaac in the leading role. The first episode is scheduled to release on the streaming platform on March 30, 2022. The series will follow Steve Grant, an employee who suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. He discovers that he shares a body with Marc Spector, and becomes Moon Knight. Ethan Hawke also stars in the show as the villain, supposedly inspired by David Koresh, a cult leader. The show will be directed by Mohamed Diab and it looks to be another success for Marvel. Kevin Fiege, Marvel’s boss, has also said, “There’s a tonal shift. This is a different thing. This is Moon Knight.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Probably the biggest release by Marvel will see the return of Doctor Strange, in the second installment of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as the cool and collected Doctor Strange, and Elizabeth Olsen returns as Scarlet Witch. The franchise will also introduce the newest superhero, America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez.

The show will follow the events of WandaVision, where we last saw Wanda walking away from the town that she held hostage while she tried to come to terms with Vision’s death. She faces Agatha Harkness and transforms into the Scarlet Witch. The trailer was released during the Super Bowl, with fans losing their cool over the possible return of Professor Xavier, from the X-Men series. Sam Raimi seems to have all the ingredients necessary to make a blockbuster.

Thor: Love and Thunder

After the success of Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok, the director was called back to direct the next Thor movie. Thor: Love and Thunder will see Chris Hemsworth take on his most popular role, the mythical God of Thunder, Thor. Natalie Portman will return as Jane Foster, Christian Bale has been cast as Gorr the God Butcher, and Russel Crowe will make his appearance as Zeus. The movie will bring Chris Hemsworth back to the screens, three years after his appearance in Endgame. Fans are rightfully psyched to see what Taika has in store for them.

Ms. Marvel

Another newcomer in Marvel, Kamala Khan, is the first Muslim hero in the MCU. The role will be heralded by Iman Vellani, and bring Kamala to life. The role will focus on the sixteen-year-old Pakistani-American teenager, who doesn’t fit in school or her family. However, she becomes more confident once she gains her superpowers. The show will consist of six episodes and is scheduled for release in mid-2022.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther 2 is set to release in November this year if there are no further delays. Since the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman, Ryan Coogler was required to change the script and change the story. The sequel was delayed due to COVID-19 and once again due to Letitia Wright’s injury. Kevin Fiege confirmed that another actor would not play the role of Black Panther, nor would Chadwick Boseman’s likeness be recreated digitally.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

James Gunn will return to direct The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special to cover the events between Thor: Love and Thunder and the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy. The show is expected to release on Disney Plus around December 2022. The show will see the return of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis.

She-Hulk

Another new Disney Plus series will bring a new superhero to our screens. Tatiana Maslany will play the role of lawyer Jennifer Walters, who occasionally turns into the green female Hulk. The trailer for the show was released on Disney+ Day, and fans were given a glimpse into the show. Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner, and Tim Roth will return as the Abomination, fourteen years after he first took on the role.
