Different people deal with stress differently, but we all know the feeling of anxiety and fear among students when exams are around the corner. Some Tokyo school students work themselves up, some procrastinate, others learn to ignore their feelings, in an attempt to cope with the stress.

Here are some ways students can deal with exam stress.

  • Take a Break

Staying indoors and studying all day can reduce the productivity of students.  Spending time with nature, breathing in the fresh air, and walking amid natural greenery can help destress. Experts recommend at least a half-hour of ‘me-time’ for students in open spaces or quiet surroundings to unwind and recharge. Other activities like cycling, walking, jogging, skipping are good stress-busters that can overcome anxiety.

  • Shake It Off

The amount of studying and the sheer volume of revisions can leave a student overwhelmed during exam time, causing stress levels to increase. Experts recommend unwinding by playing music and letting the self loose. Dancing helps relax the mind and the workout that comes with it eases out the stress. regular work out regime.

  • Yoga and Meditation

Meditation and yoga are known for their mental benefits. Studies reveal that if a student practices yoga or meditation for at least thirty minutes during their exams, it will increase their focus, concentration, and attention span. Yoga and meditation are extremely helpful in battling anxiety, restlessness, and stress.

  • Unleash Some Creativity

Creativity can come in many forms. Students can spend a little while during their exam period doing things they love. They could read, bake, paint, draw, sing, or even try fun activities they enjoy. Being creative is a good way to relieve stress and feel lighthearted and free of anxiety. When children spend time doing things they enjoy or trying out new things, they feel a rush of joy. They also feel very much at ease. This boosts their morale and refreshes them well enough for their next round hitting the books.

  • Fold Things Through

Origami is yet another brilliant way to keep a young mind occupied during study breaks. This art of folding paper is beneficial in more ways than one. It is not just a stress buster, but an activity that enhances perception, hand eye coordination, and concentration skills. Origami also helps improve the attention span of people.

These are just some suggestions that have been used and recommended. Students from Tokyo schools need to be fresh and confident during their exams. Spending all their time studying will not help them at all as they can tire out easily without any physical exertion, fresh air, or mental exercises. These above activities or any other stress busters are a must for students during exam season!
