The dreamy and flickering candlelight, an electrifying effect on the surrounding. Candlelight soothes your nerves and creates a sense of calmness in your nerves.

Delightful candles are coming in different shapes and sizes—the quality of candles depends on the wax used in the candle. The candle store near me is full of different types of candles, like pillar, motive, and rolled candles. It is the quality of different waxes that measures the price of a candle.

In this article, we are going to discuss different types of waxes used in making candles.

Paraffin candle wax:

Paraffin wax is a byproduct of crude oil. Paraffin wax is collected when gasoline is produced from crude oil. Paraffin is a white, odorless wax. The quality of paraffin wax is varying according to the nature of the candle. Paraffin wax comes in two qualities:

  • Soft Paraffin wax
  • Hard Paraffin wax

Soft paraffin wax has a melting point below 130° F. This type of paraffin is used in making container candles as soft wax. Adhere well to the walls of the container.

Hard Paraffin has a melting point above 130° F. Such paraffin is used in votive and pillar candles. This is a solid and rigid wax and provides a shape due to its structural rigidity.

Soy candle wax:

Soy candle wax is extracted from hydrogenated soybean oil. Soy candle wax is high-quality wax, as it produces less soot than other wax. Soy wax is naturally produced wax and emits minimum soot during burning. Soy wax is expensive and produces fragrance during its burning and doesn’t need any chemical amplifier for fragrance. Soy wax is the healthiest wax due to its quality and it lasts longer than paraffin wax.

Beeswax:

Beeswax is naturally produced wax. Beeswax is the natural purifier of the air. It produces negative ions during burning, which combines with positive ions(like dust particles, pollens, and mold). These negative ions combine with these positive ions to purify the air. It is naturally cleaner of the air. Pure Beeswax is also expensive and commonly used with coconut oil to produce fragrance during the burn. Beeswax also comes in sheets to make rolled candles. It is high-quality wax in its pure and natural form.

Gel candle wax:

Gel candle wax is transparent and made from mineral oil and polymer resin. If you use a clear glass container, you can see through the container. Beautiful coloring is added to the container to make the candle more beautiful. Decoratives are used to make the candle beautiful by the Gel candle wax.

Gel candle wax is not a high-quality wax. In fact, it is not a wax at all, as it is prepared from mineral oil.

Palm candle wax:

Palm wax is also a naturally produced wax. It is used to produce different textures and styles of candles. It is high-quality wax and more useful than soy wax due to its flexibility in carving any shape. Palm wax burns smoothly and produces no toxic material. It is best for sensitive and hyperallergic people due to its nontoxic burn.
